Charging guide
What is a Tesla Magic Dock?
How Tesla’s built-in CCS1 adapter changes the setup at selected Supercharger sites.
Magic Dock in one sentence
Magic Dock sites have an adapter built into the charging post, so a compatible CCS1 vehicle can use the site without carrying a separate NACS DC adapter.
Why it is conditional
Not every Tesla Supercharger has Magic Dock, and site access still depends on vehicle compatibility and network policy. Check the exact site in the Tesla app before you drive there.
What Magic Dock does not change
Magic Dock changes the connector hardware available at that charging post. It does not make every CCS1 vehicle eligible, remove the need for a supported payment or app flow, or establish a vehicle’s maximum DC charging power.
Before you go
- Confirm the station is a Magic Dock site, not a standard NACS-only site.
- Confirm your model year is supported by the manufacturer and Tesla.
- Check whether the Tesla app is required to start the session.
For a specific vehicle and charger combination, use the Compatibility Checker.
